What a Night at Leeds Minster!
Saturday night at Leeds Minster was something truly extraordinary. The air was filled with excitement, the stage was glowing, and when Pop ’n’ Rock began to sing… the whole place came alive.
People afterwards said it felt like stepping straight into a West End concert — the harmonies, the passion, the showmanship. Our singers gave everything they had, lighting up that beautiful space with the kind of energy that sends shivers down the spine.
The magic wasn’t just on stage either. The atmosphere was warm and joyful from the moment guests stepped through the door, welcomed by mulled wine, mince pies, cupcakes, hot chocolate and sweet bags — a proper festive treat. One person said the evening did them “the world of good, it was well needed,” which is exactly why we do what we do.
There were tears, cheers and so many huge smiles. “I felt very humbled that I was able to be part of it and be there,” wrote another. “You all sounded amazing. Happy Christmas!” Such kind words mean everything to us.
The Hummingbirds absolutely soared — described as “spectacular and outstanding” by more than a few — and the whole night was packed with moments to remember. And let’s not forget our wonderful Phil Fryer, channelling the smooth magic of Frank Sinatra himself. “His voice was incredible,” came the verdict… and we couldn’t agree more.
What made the evening shine brightest was the community behind it: the talented people on stage, the dedicated crew behind the scenes, and the incredible audience offering so much love and support. We heard someone say, “I enjoyed every single part of the event — it was spectacular.” That feeling echoed throughout the Minster.
Proud doesn’t quite cover it.
Here’s to the music that unites us, to shared joy, and to a night we’ll be talking about for a very long time. Pop ’n’ Rock — you were sensational.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas… and roll on the next one!
